Castello di Pompeano

The Castle of Pompeano rests on ophiolite serpentine (volcanic rock). Until the early fifteenth century it belonged to the Counts Da Gombola. Pompeano is an ancient village near Serramazzoni (Province of Modena), Italy.

I have visited the castle twice and not been inside the walls. Maybe third time lucky…
